Educational Philosophy
I am a friendly, interactive, professional teacher. My students work in a rigorous, informative, and direct environment that is fun and relaxed, yet engaging. I teach students to inquire, compete, adapt, and transition into their future lives and careers. My students work in a blended learning environment where technology gives them choices and engages them. They develop real life computer skills that adapt across curriculum and transition into the real world.
My philosophy of education involves trying to create a classroom where students can explore content and the relationship between themselves and their world, and I encourage the extension of that learning beyond the classroom. I challenge students to own their education and advocate for themselves while encouraging deeper learning in every content area.
Using technology and data defined pedagogy, I redefine the curriculum and support my students to redefine education on their own terms with assignments that they help model and create. I encourage students to develop a personal and digital citizenship that develops their positive relationships within the world and where they develop and own their real and digital life.
I advocate for my students to have the tools they need to learn both technologically and realistically. I am a lifelong learner, and it is my goal to teach my students to live as a critical thinker with a curiosity for life.
