Classroom Management Plan
Interacting with Parents, Colleagues, and Others:
Parents: I want to create an environment where parents can speak with me in any channel possible through email, phone, or family interaction. I want parents to be able to feel comfortable visiting the classroom. Notes to parents, when their student has had a great score on an assignment, or when assignments have been turned in consecutively will be sent home. Also, notes will be sent home in different languages letting the parents know that my door is open to talk anytime and that if any language accommodation needs to be made in advance, I can accommodate any discussion that they may need to have both positive or negative. When I have my own classroom, I plan to have disclosures in different languages to accommodate parents’ home language.
Colleagues: Colleagues are an invaluable resource. I plan to participate in staff meetings and group interaction with other teachers to discuss issues I may be having with students and ways and channels that they are using to resolve these issues. Also, if they have effective lesson plans, I plan on exchanging different classroom and curriculum ideas continuously with colleagues.
Students: As with parents, I am keeping an open-door policy with students. I want students to know that they can come discuss issues or even literary works with me if I am not teaching a class. A grade report will be constantly available for students on Canvas, and I will be available for conferencing any time I am not teaching for consultation on grade improvement.
There is a 24 hour service level agreement made clear to my students, 48 hours for papers that are 2 pages or longer.
