Classroom Management Plan
Responses to Misbehavior
Mild Misbehavior: I will ask students to modify their behavior directly if it is appropriate. If direct request is not appropriate, strategies such as movement towards the student or a change in instruction. Smaller behavior problems such as talking while the teacher is talking will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Some side-talking is allowed under certain conditions if it doesn’t interfere with student learning
If side-talking or other negative behaviors continue by the same student, a personal meeting with the student will occur during class in the hallway or after class. I would like to facilitate an educational climate with my students and want to understand the root causes of issues within the classroom. Sometimes when students won't leave class this discussion occurs within the classroom.
Severe Behavior: If this does not correct the issue and the student continues to disturb the classroom, removal from the class may be necessary.
An alternate classroom with another teacher may be arranged where the student can complete his/her work.
If the behavior is severe, campus security and/or administration may be contacted.
