Classroom Management Plan
Creating a Respectful, Supportive Learning Environment
Atmosphere: Fun, interactive and supportive with challenging discussions. Student perspective will be encouraged as they will need to learn to formulate their own opinions about school and literary work.
Creation: I plan to have specific well-prepared lessons for the 1 hour and 30 minutes that engage the students and create small inquiry projects daily. Preparation is essential for both learning and classroom management. Brief lesson plan agendas will be included on the board for each subject taught so that students expect certain information to be taught daily.
Maintain/Reinforce: Students will be reminded daily of assignments that are due and information that may be discussed during the first five minutes of class. A question and answer session will be included for general assignment questions. More specific and individual problems will be addressed during group work during the period or during another applicable break from direct instruction. Weekly review of homework quality and completion from students will also assist me in discovering who is able to maintain the workload and how students are responding the challenge. Mini-conferences with students may be set up with students for review.
Cooperation: Students will be validated as often as possible with their ideas. If there is a class wide or individual issue with the curriculum, the problem will be discussed in either a private or class wide manner. If there is difficulty with an element of the curriculum, I will request a ticket out type review from the students regarding issues or problems they may be having with the curriculum.
