Classroom Management Plan
Managing and Facilitating Instruction
Structure: Each lesson that I do will vary in structure. There are a lot of activities with both individual and group work for students. I will also be using technologies such as the overhead and internet to enhance the lessons.
Begin/End: Classes will begin with a review of the work done in the previous class, what assignments are due, and any questions that students may be having on the homework. Classes will end with a review of what the students have learned that day, what they may have questions on, and tickets out or journals will be done during the beginning and ending of class. If journals are included, this review may go from 5 minutes to 20 minutes to accommodate journal prompts.
Group: Groups will be created by having the students count to the number of groups that the teacher needs for the students to have the right number in their groups. Students will be able to have discussions with students other than their peers that they know.
Lesson Delivery: During direct instruction, I will be at the front of the room facing students while delivering the lesson. During group work, I will be checking in with groups to make sure they are on task and add to their discussion.
Modifications: I will attempt to differentiate lessons for students as much as it is possible so that they may learn the work that is being done in class. If students need different accommodations, this will be done on a case-by-case basis.
Integrations of Technology: I will use technology wherever appropriate. The overhead projector has been the most useful technology in my class; however, I am very conversant with power point and will work with the video if appropriate to the lesson.
